In honor of Earth Day, I was thinking of how a series of framed photographs or artwork can be an elegant way to personalize or simply fill an empty wall, and framed botanical prints can be especially attractive.
A close look at the photograph above shows careful selection of framed botanicals that match the color scheme in the room: natural woodtones and paint colors in greens and golds. And in collections such as this one, it's especially effective to use the same frame and matting for each and to ensure all are the same size.
A collection of framed botanicals are attractive in any space. In a dining room, in a hallway, and even in a bedroom. (Click on the photograph to enlarge the image.)
There are a few ways to vary the appearance of any collection. When it comes to botanicals, consider using fruit as a theme. Cluster them together and hang them on a wall in the kitchen.
And in a broader interpretation of hanging a collection of botanicals, if frames don't appeal to you or don't seem to fit the space where a point of interest is needed, consider painting a wall mural of a tree, bush, or plant. Then add some unexpected elements to add a third dimension to the wall. How fun is the mural on the wall in this bedroom?!
Whether you choose flora, fauna, or both, and framed or unframed, a collection of botanical prints on a wall makes a statement of appreciation for nature and the earth.
