Winter in Northern California is relatively mild, so tulip trees and cherry blossoms begin blooming mid-February. The branches of these trees are beautiful and are sometimes cut for use in floral arrangements.
Cherry blossoms typically come in three colors: white, pale pink, and deep pink. The pale pink variety is my favorite.
Whether these delicate blossoms are placed indoors to brighten up a room or left on their trees to reach full maturity, these first signs of spring are absolutely stunning.
