Through the holiday season, Melissa over at The Inspired Room is hosting a "Holiday Linky Love" every Friday. Such fun. I'm looking forward to see what others share!
I collect nutcrackers and display them in my living room throughout the holiday season. I was at Mervyn's close-out sale last week and found a very cute baker nutcracker. He has a rolling pin in one hand and a tray with baked goods in the other hand. On the tray are two loaves of bread and two little gingerbread cookies. I found two teacup ornaments at Mervyn's, too, both had little gingerbread themes, so I purchased them as well.
I have a gingerbread theme in my kitchen during the holidays, and, because I found a really good deal on ebay, I treated myself to a brand new KitchenAid mixer for Christmas last year. So, this nutcracker was perfect for my kitchen, plus it was 40% off! I couldn't pass up the deal and created a little holiday baking vignette in my kitchen as soon as I got home.
I absolutely love how my new nutcracker looks in my kitchen. I just need to rearrange the ivy and tuck away the KitchenAid cord, and he'll look perfect. The platter in the background, "Petite Fleur" by Villeroy and Boch, was a Christmas present from my mother-in-law years and years ago. I had packed it away when I moved several years ago, and rediscovered it last summer. I have missed it and think it adds such charm to my holiday kitchen vignette.
Let the holiday decorating begin!
