The accent color in my living and dining rooms is brick red. This is a change for me. Before I moved into my new home a year and a half ago, the main color in my living room was navy blue. I loved it, and I always thought it was at its best during autumn as the color wheel's complimentary shade of orange peppered the room in the form of seasonal decor.
When it was time to purchase a new couch, I chose a neutral color that is beige with the warmth of yellow. Given a few other factors, such as my mother's rocking chair, I chose brick red throw pillows and accessories in my new home. I love the combination, and was delighted to see this same color scheme on the cover of the November 2008 issue of Traditional Home. Isn't it beautiful?!
