Summertime always makes me think cottage and shabby chic interiors. White and worn woods and fabrics welcome all to relax in these rooms for a very long time.
A vintage fireplace surround makes a statement unto itself. Add white accessories such as slipcovers for chairs and planter boxes, then pop a color or two in the way of plants or metalwork, and the charm is established.
Chipped white paint is even charming when it appears on framework in the powder room.
Add more color to a living room by accessorizing with floral pillows that can be changed each season.
Indoors or out, shabby chic looks naturally beachy.
Antique stores, flea markets, and yard sales are just a few places to search for shabby chic items. Just think "white and worn," and you'll be on the right track for spying unique treasures.

Oh, I just love every room! I am getting close to that look but I think I get too carried away with my colors. It's definitely shabby though!! :-)

Just beautiful! That last photo with the beige cushion with red writing is probably my favourite - it's so fresh. Visiting from The Inspired Room. Meredith xo.
