Hello to all who are visiting by way of The Inspired Room! Special thanks once again to Melissa for hosting "Friday Holiday Linky" every Friday through the holiday season!
During the Christmas season, a rich tone of red is the dominant color in my living room and dining room. And there is a significant amount of red in my kitchen as well as in two of the powder rooms and the hallway near the bedrooms. But when it comes to my bedroom, I don't want to have a speck of red anywhere. Blues, white, and green make for a stunning Christmas color scheme, too.
My bedroom has been decorated in blue and white most of my life and, over the years, accent colors have included sage, pale pink, and violet. At Christmas time, I emphasize the blue and white by adding some evergreen and some small white lights. The little tree below was a gift from my grandparents years and years ago. They bought it at a Christmas bazar we used to attend every year. (Simply click on any of my photographs to get a closer look.)
I found this toile framed mirror a few years ago and fell in love with it the moment I saw it. At Christmastime, I add an evergreen swag and place a small white baren tree on the table below it. There is a bead garland on the little tree and a few vintage-like Santa ornaments.
Years ago, my father brought from Japan two ginger jar lamps. The base of the lamps are a bluish gray porcelain and are perforated in a beautiful pattern. There is a small white light inside the base of the lamp, and there is the option to have the base light on or off. At Christmastime, I light the base of the lamp only leaving the bulb under the shade off. Paperwhites take center stage on the dresser and, because they're placed in front of the mirror, there appears to be twice the blossoms. This photograph was taken at the end of the season last year, so the paperwhites are a bit overgrown.
I add a garland of small white berries and white lights to the headboard of the bed. They look so beautiful with the little lights from the ginger jar lamps. A few years ago I found a quilt that was embroidered with ribbon. I was so intrigued by that technique and this it is beautiful. The perfect quilt for my Christmas room is in shades of blue, white, and green, and the embroidered pattern is a wreath.
I add special Christmas collectibles that compliment the calm, cool colors of my winter wonderland. On Christmas Eve it feels excitingly icy and magical. And it holds a promise that, with a little help from another special Fitz & Floyd Santa, dreams do come true. Believe . . .

Lovely. Just lovely.
Just the other day I was thinking about color schemes other than the tradition red/green/gold/silver. I do love the traditional but your blue is wonderful. I'm trying out a similar scheme in my dining room this year just for fun.

You are a lover of blue, which is my favorite color. I host Blue Monday, and I think you'd like to join in the fun. Come see.
BTW: I love your blue and white and really like the blue Santa.

My bedroom has a color scheme of khaki, cream, and a greyish robin's egg blue. I haven't decorated in there to date, but you have me very inspired to do so! I love the feel of this room, thank you for sharing it.
Visiting via the Inspired Room, Happy Holidays!

I love the paperwhites! I have to buy them every year and they always make a room look wonderful! I use a ton of blue and green in my house...it's not just red and green anymore!
